Express Boxes for Ground shipments | UPS Discussions
Jun 10, 2013 · I noticed on the UPS Express boxes, it says: "Do not use this box for: UPS Ground, UPS Standard, UPS 3 Day Select" yet as a preloader I always see these boxes being used for regular ground shipments. So what's the deal? Does UPS not enforce these rules?

Nov 23, 2006 · I think a flat rate box would help this company. It wouldnt and couldnt be used for most stuff, but it would help take more volume from the post office. Many customers would use ups even though it was more expensive just to stay out of the post office pathetically long lines. I really doubt ups would loose money on something like that.

Aug 15, 2007 · at fedex i make more than 4 bucks an hour more than at ups. the benifits are pretty good and the work load isn't as hard (we deliver more letters than boxes). as an a.m. driver for fedex you'll work about the same amount of hours but instead of 3-8 it'll be more like 6-11.

Oct 24, 2007 · My Managers at FedEx Express were amazed that I loaded 3-4 trucks at 200-300+ pieces each when I was at UPS.. and even more-so about the routes I ran 170 DEL 28 PU 350 pieces when at UPS... I do however love my 50-80stops and 150piece days at Express now.. 50stop days are really annoying.. 80stop days are perfect. But keep in mind at Express ...

Aug 28, 2023 · So with this restructuring express into ground this really means FedEx is not an airline anymore. Therefore, they are not bound by the Railway labor act anymore. UPS and the Teamsters should be all over this. FedEx ground is made up of all sort of CDL-B box truck companies they purchased over the years and expansion.

Mar 5, 2024 · Freight is hemorrhaging! They have lost 20 trailer loads of freight a day out of local terminal. I was told by dispatchers that FedEx raised the rates and customers are leaving. XPO is benefiting from the price hikes. It sounds from this thread that ground isn’t working out and we’re now hearing about legacy stations for express.

Jun 22, 2018 · Even though Federal Express might have picked up 15,000 packages/day, during the strike, their couriers were having trouble handling bigger boxes, as per my earlier quote. The Federal Express terminal was next to ours, their line haul truck was a cube van & they mostly ran in vans, with some running in small pickup trucks with toppers.

Jan 13, 2016 · They are very anti-union. Express is an airline covered by the RLA, needs a nationwide vote to unionize. Teamsters have tried to get Freight but there's a general lack of interest. They've gotten a few terminals but most of the ones they scheduled votes at said no. The FedEx manager is probably scared by legal to say anything about contractors.

Apr 2, 2013 · anyone interested in the 10 point commentary should check w their human resources or driver supervisor in their building. they could be different from state to state, the commentary i gave is the exact wording and order that was given to me for integrad. i received my 10 point commentary about 5 weeks ago so i know without a doubt that mine is the correct and current commentary for my area.
