Mar 21, 2014 · Two days later I received a call from a local repair shop offering to repair the chip with a new chip from Mitsubishi the same day! The repair took all of about twenty minutes and a labor fee of $200.00 (which was fairly HIGH) but worth the price for the speedy repair.

Mitsubishi will supply the part (part # 276P595010) for free, but you must pay $200 in labor.

Oct 17, 2013 · The only way to fix the problem is replace the bad DMD chip. There were bad batches of these chips that were produced that were suseptable to heat failure. The DMD chip is sealed so no dust can get inside and doesn't have an effect. The new DMD I have to get for my HD66 is a newer and improved version over the original.

A geometry adjustment tweak in the service menu might still be needed since there is probably a bit of socket tolerance chip-to-chip. ggw2000. They offered their "good will" replacement program to me right away for replacing the DMD chip. As I've read, I would have to pay the negotiated replacement service of $200.
