Sep 10, 2010 · Get a cylinder bed machine, preferably one with a flat table insert. The post machine is seldom a requirement (although that one time you need one, nothing else will do). I do have a post, but wouldn't want one as my only machine. You can do a lot (almost anything) with a post, but it won't be as comfortable as it will be with a cylinder bed.

May 26, 2024 · I have owned recently, both cylinder arm and Post bed, both were Cowboy. While the Post bed was an interesting machine to use it wasn't intended for heavy sewing. Mine would work great with 92 thread it really didn't sew as easily with 138 although I did use it occasionally. Looking back the cylinder arm would be my suggestion.

Apr 25, 2018 · If you really do need a walking foot post bed machine, wait a little, make some more bags and save up money for a good one. In the 70's and 80's a good industrial post bed sewing machine cost as much as a small car. Today they cost MUCH less than a small car.

Aug 11, 2011 · Hi Brandon, If you are not going to be using over size 92 thread, Then the post is the way to go. There is little a post can't do in its size range, even sewing half way down a jacket arm (although there is a lot of grunting, groaning, hollering, and screaming involved with the occasional swear word).

One is an Adler 30-7 with a motor (not a servo) being sold by a sewing repair shop. The other machine is a Post-Bed Techsew 85017. I plan to make wallets, shoes and eventually Bags.

You barely find information on the 51W machines and especially not on 51WSV2 (Special Variant) - I mean stitch length and so forth... However, I did a lot of research and figured there are 2 different 51W post bed models.
