Having been meticulously restored, and opening in 2009, the park features wetlands, boat launches and one of the nation’s largest outdoor climbing walls. It is also home to the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, a stopover for thousands of birds that migrate north from Central and South America.

The park sits on the bank of the Scioto River on the Whittier peninsula in Columbus, already a magnet for shorebirds and birds of prey. Metro Parks has created seven wetland cells in the park, approximately five acres in total, to enhance the wildlife habitat.
