Local roads are back open following the winter weather, though officials warn drivers to stay alert, particularly on bridges and overpasses where ice may linger.

According to Raul Leal with TxDOT, “What happens is during the night, things develop the weather changes quickly, the temperatures, the humidity and the precipitation. All of a sudden, you got ice on the road. We are well prepared to handle it, but unfortunately, it just happened.”
