Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry (R) has said he pushed for a tiger to appear before LSU’s football game against Alabama, resuming a school tradition.

LSU previously ended the tradition of bringing a live tiger to the sidelines of games in 2016, when Mike VI died.

LSU had a special guest in attendance for its 42-13 loss to Alabama in Week 11. Louisiana governor Jeff Landry pushed for the inclusion of a live tiger during LSU's pregame festivities, and he got his wish when an ersatz Mike the Tiger took to the sidelines in a cage prior to kickoff.

No state or LSU funds were used to bring a live tiger to LSU's recent game against Alabama, per Gov. Jeff Landry’s office. The tiger, Omar Bradley, was provided by a Florida owner with past federal citations for animal handling,
