A D.C. teenager is allegedly behind several threats made toward local schools. FOX 5's Josh Rosenthal reports from Northwest with concerns from investigators and parents.

Gov. Jim Governor directed the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security to establish the School Safety Task Force to address the uptick in school threats statewide. The task force is made up of: West Virginia Fusion Center,

During the 2022 - 23 school year, the Office of School Safety received 84 threats. This school year they’ve received 115 threats.

Across the bi-state there have been at least seven different local districts interrupted over the past week because of different school threats.

The Louisiana State Police, federal and local agencies state individuals guilty of making threats against schools are committing felony crimes. They emphasize that “making false threats against schools is not only dangerous but also illegal.
