An aerial view captures some of the devastation in Malibu and Pacific Palisades as fires ravaged the Los Angeles area this week.

The wildfires in Los Angeles continued to burn mostly out of control, with at least five blazes being fueled by dry conditions and ferocious winds in California.

Before-and-after images offer a glimpse of how the blazes have affected the city. The Palisades Fire, the largest in the area, burned over a thousand structures, including many homes in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood, west of Malibu. The Eaton Fire, the second-biggest fire, is burning in northern Los Angeles, near Pasadena.
