After a night of frigid temperatures reaching single digits around Denver and below zero in the mountains, snow is set to return across the state Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Active winter weather has returned to Colorado as the Denver weather forecast is going to be much colder and snowier over the coming days.

First Alert Meteorologist Alex Lehnert said the snow will continue along the Front Range in Colorado through early Tuesday afternoon.

Patchy fog is forecast in Denver this morning, followed by a chilly weekend, with up to a few inches of snow possible Saturday night.

Mainly sunny skies are back on Wednesday, warming temperatures up a little. However, light snow returns to Denver on Thursday morning.
