Ryan Murphy’s American Story franchise is gearing up for its next installment. American Love Story, which will tell the story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Bessette, is coming to FX, executive producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson announced on Tuesday.

The Hollywood mega-producer is still planning a spinoff of his American Story franchise, called American Love Story, about the '90s golden couple.

“Carolyn wasn’t John’s shadow; she was his equal,” RoseMarie Terenzio, John’s former chief-of-staff at George magazine, recalled in her book Fairy Tale Interrupted: A Memoir of Life, Love, and Loss.
