PARIS (Reuters) -French drinks company Pernod Ricard cut its 2025 and longer-term outlook on Thursday and brought forward issuing of its first half results, citing challenging market conditions in the United States and China.

French spirits giant Pernod Ricard is now expecting its annual net sales to fall on an organic basis, the company said today (6 February).

Pernod Ricard cut its sales forecasts for 2025 and beyond as tariffs weigh on the French spirits maker during an already tough time for the industry.

Pernod Ricard has cut its sales outlook for the year, blaming China’s tariffs on brandy imports from the EU for subduing demand. The French spirits maker, whose brands include Absolut Vodka, Beefeater gin, and Jameson whisky, said organic net sales would fall by a low-single digit percentage in 2025 after previously forecasting growth of 4% to 7%.
