This new extension for Gemini finally brings the app up to par with your old Google Assistant in terms of basic functionality and more.

Alphabet's Google on Thursday released a smartphone app for its artificial intelligence chatbot on Apple's App Store that introduced the latest generation of its voice assistant to the popular mobile operating system.

The new Google Gemini Utilities extension adds the ability to manage alarms, control media playback, open apps, and more. Gemini can now do much of what Google Assistant has been able to do for simple on-device tasks.
