SEATTLE (AP) — The Seattle Kraken put goaltender Philipp Grubauer on waivers Wednesday with the purpose of sending him to the minors, and he would be assigned to the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds if he clears.

The Seattle Kraken goalie cleared waivers on Thursday and is expected to be assigned to the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported.

The Kraken announced Wednesday that they’ve placed goaltender Philipp Grubauer on waivers. He will be reassigned to AHL Coachella Valley if he clears. Grubauer is the second high-profile veteran in as many days to hit the waiver wire,
