Apple Intelligence keeps wildly mischaracterizing the news alerts it tries to summarize. The company should suspend the feature until it works better. Apple should shut off its AI summaries of news alerts until it can prevent them from spreading fake news.

According to the BBC's report, Apple's AI summaries distorted certain notifications in November and spread misinformation. Another incident stood out: one that falsely identified UnitedHealthcare executive Luigi Mangione as both a shooter and a person shot in a fictional incident.
