In its recent forecast, the IMD issued a red alert in regions across Maharashtra, Konkan Goa and Gujarat, saying that monsoon is likely to retract by October 5.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a 'red' alert for Goa on Tuesday, saying heavy rainfall was very likely at a few places. Also, very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy showers were very likely with winds gusting to 40-50 kmph at isolated places over North Goa and South Goa, it added.

Isolated severe downpours are predicted in Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Konkan from 24 Sept to 26 Sept. Gujarat region may witness the same weather on 25 Sept and 26 Sept whereas Marathwada will get it on 24 Sept. Kutch and Saurashtra are likely to receive it from 24 Sept to 28 Sept.

Another 'yellow' alert has been issued for Himachal Pradesh where rains have blocked nearly 50 roads. Meanwhile light rain has been predicted for Delhi, Rajasthan and Jammu.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai on Thursday morning. It has also issued a red alert for Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts on Thursday and a red alert in Palghar on Friday.

With isolated heavy rain projected for these regions, officials are urging residents to remain cautious and prepared. The agency has also highlighted a moderate flash flood risk for several areas in the south Gujarat region and the coastal areas of Konkan and Goa.

Mumbai woke up to another spell of heavy showers on Friday as the India Meteorological Department predicted more showers.

The IMD has also issued a red alert for Nashik, with orange alerts covering Palghar, Pune, Nandurbar and Dhule. Moreover, almost every city in Maharashtra is under a yellow alert for the day.
