A new emergency order from the FAA prohibits U.S. airlines from flying into Haiti after flights from Spirit Airlines, JetBlue and American Airlines were fired on. NBC News' Tom Costello reports.

( The Hill) — A Spirit Airlines flight was hit by gunfire in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The flight was headed to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and was diverted when it was hit. The airline said Flight 951 landed safely in Santiago, Dominican Republic.

The Federal Aviation Administration said on Tuesday it will bar U.S. airlines from operating in Haiti for 30 days after three commercial jetliners were struck by gunfire on Monday. The FBI said separately it was investigating the incidents and working with law enforcement partners.
