TROPICAL UPDATE: Rafael becomes post-tropical, new area of interest pops up in Caribbean
Rafael will continue to weaken as it tracks westward through the Gulf. This is partially due to increasing wind shear and more overall hostile environmental conditions. The wind shear is in association with a cold front moving across Texas. This front will help to deflect the storm from us.
Tropical Storm Rafael falls apart in the Gulf, but season’s not over yet
Tropical Storm Rafael is no more. Rafael, which became a Category 3 hurricane twice and hit Cuba on Nov. 6, fell apart in the Gulf of Mexico over the weekend and was ruled a post-tropical system on Sunday by the National Hurricane Center.
Tropical Storm Likely in the Caribbean Sea/Gulf of Mexico
Another tropical storm is likely to develop in the Caribbean late next week. This storm will be called “Rafael”. Here’s what the Hurricane Center says: “Southwestern Caribbean Sea:Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the southwestern Caribbean Sea are associated with a broad area of low pressure.
