Jalen Hurts, in his first game since suffering a concussion on Dec. 22, started hot by completing his first six passes. Then he went cold by missing seven straight before recovering in time to lead the Eagles to a hard-fought 22-10 win Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles didn’t ask too much of their QB, but he came good when it counted in a 22-10 wild-card playoff win over the Green Bay Packers.

Although the Eagles called 34 rushing plays compared to just 21 pass attempts, quarterback Jalen Hurts played his part as well. He was efficient through the air (13-for-21, 131 yards), distributing touchdown passes to wideout Jahan Dotson and tight end Dallas Goedert.

Jalen Hurts felt little need to defend his pedestrian numbers in his first game in three weeks because of a concussion. The 131 yards passing. The 36 yards rushing.

They don’t award any extra points for style, and so on to the next round the Eagles go after their 22-10 wild-card win over the Green Bay Packers. The offense, especially the passing attack, at times was stuck in the new sod at Lincoln Financial Field.

I’m not entirely through the game yet, but I’m more convinced than ever that the play design is average. However, the coaching staff is telling Hurts to be risk-averse. This is the #1 defense and run game in the league.
