Supplies are being brought into the region by air following devastation from Tropical Storm Helene across Western North Carolina as search and rescue operations remain underway.

The worst of Helene has passed through the Triad. Our meteorologists say the threat of severe weather is over, but rain could still be possible as we move into the afternoon and evening. The storm has left an extensive amount of damage in its wake.

At least 65 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the storm, at least a third of whom were killed by falling trees. Helene made landfall Thursday night in Florida's Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane.
