Sony’s recently made a point of using CES to highlight the synergies it sees between its technology arms and its presence in the entertainment industries, and 2025 was no different. The biggest hardware rundown this year was further detailing of its much-teased Afleela EV,

The EV will be available in "two trims," as per Sony, with prices starting from $89,900 with a 3-year complimentary subscription for certain functionality and features, according to a company press release. The tech titan has also announced online reservations through the AFEELA website with a fully refundable reservation fee of $200.

The price for the entry-level Afeela 1 Origin makes the Sony Honda Mobility joint venture's first vehicle the most expensive Honda passenger car since the Acura NSX Type S. That number jumps to $102,900 if you want the Afeela 1 Signature, which adds 21-inch wheels, a central camera monitoring system, and the rear entertainment system.

Honda and Sony want to launch an electric car on the market in 2026. The initial key figures are surprisingly modest.

The Afeela 1, the first electric car from Sony in partnership with Honda, will be launched in 2027. Starting at $89,900, the entry-level model, called Origin, will feature 19-inch wheels and only one available color: Core Black.
