The shooter, later identified as George Colom Jr., eventually died from his injuries after being taken to the hospital in critical condition, Raleigh police said early Sunday morning. A male bystander who was also shot suffered non-life threatening injuries, Police Chief Estella Patterson said at a news conference.

George Colom, the man accused of shooting two other men in Raleigh’s North Hills, has a criminal history. He was the executive chef of Coquette, the restaurant where Friday’s shooting took place.
