Kashmir has been cut off from the rest of the country following heavy snowfall. Tourists have faced hours-long traffic jams and unpredictable weather conditions.

Following the first snowfall of the season, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that nearly 2,000 vehicles are stuck in Qazigund town, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir.

Srinagar recorded a low of minus 1 degree Celsius on Friday night, more than six degrees up from the previous night's low of minus 7.3 degrees Celsius.

As Kashmir valley remained snowbound on Friday with intermittent snow and rain lashing J&K during the day, all flights to and from Srinagar International Airport were cancelled while train service was restored to the valley in the afternoon.
