PHILADELPHIA — Tom Thibodeau wants Josh Hart to consider his words. In the wake of Hart twice calling for his team to drop “egos” and “individual agendas” after recent losses, the coach said he was unaware of the comments but urged his player to study film before making such assessments.

The last thing the Knicks need is locker room drama. Though it may not feel like it, New York is actually on a better pace than they were at this time last year. They are 26-15 through the first half of the season compared to being 24-17 through the first half of last season.

On Wednesday, Hart proved his value again with his fifth triple-double of the season as the Knicks survived the Sixers, 125-119, in an overtime thriller. The multi-faceted guard played every second of the second half and OT period, during which he collected four offensive rebounds and made two timely steals that clinched the win.

“We're losing games I feel like we shouldn't be losing,” Knicks player Josh Hart said, per ESPN. “We've got to start figuring it out. We're halfway through. There's nothing we can do about the first half now. But if we want to be the team we're trying to be at the end of the season, we need to start correcting stuff now.”

Even if his role in the spotlight doesn’t contain the same number of lumens as that of Jalen Brunson or Karl-Anthony Towns, the 29-year-old remains an integral part of the Knicks operation.

New York Knicks forward Josh Hart may not be the flashiest player on the team, but he might be the most willing to do the dirty work necessary to win. That's a role that's almost invaluable, especially for a contender like the Knicks.
