Google is integrating its best AI-powered Gmail tools, like summarizing emails and drafting replies, into the Gemini Assistant window.

Google is actively embedding Gmail’s AI features directly into Gemini Assistant. This means certain users will now be able to get Gmail AI tools and features within Gemini itself. Google has been actively unleashing the power of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) into Gmail.

Apple Intelligence and ChatGPT aren’t yet available even on iPhone 16, but if you want a taste of AI you could try the new Google widget.

AI providers may be aware of this, for Google is not the first to shift towards single-purpose offerings. OpenAI released custom GPTs last November, which allow users to tweak a version of ChatGPT toward a specific expertise. And Anthropic launched a similar feature for its Claude model earlier this year, dubbed Artifacts.
