The beach itself is ok but very small and had a bad odor. You walk super far out and it’s only up to your knees. So for us, we found that rather boring honestly. The treatment we received from restau… Full review by lulu p

Some quick thoughts: 1. Most of the specialty retail shops and boutiques along Mason Ave (Main street) are open from 10 or 11 to 4 or 5, nice street to stroll along and enjoy some unique shopping as well as the coffee house and Kelly's Gingerhut Pub. 2.Town Beach and Boardwalk is at the Bay end of Mason so can visit there and get some great photos. 3.Enjoy tropical drinks and dinner at very scenic Jackspot Restaurant located at the Chesapeake/Cape Charles KOA (about a 10 minute drive from downtown - south US 13 right before bridge/tunnel). Hope this helps Bob

Yes it is dog-friendly! If you’re interested in the beach itself, dogs can come on sand with you anytime from Labor Day to Memorial Day, and I think during summer before 9:00 am and after 5:00 pm. Brown Dog Ice Cream is not open now, so no water bowls out front. Their dog recently died which is sad news. Other merchants might have water bowls out now. I don’t live there myself, but friends do (who have a dog!) and I go frequently to visit. I love the town all year. Dogs were there for New Year’s Eve “crab pot drop” and New Year Day hike in Kiptopeke State Park. I hope this helps!
