Kirkland is a village in DeKalb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,650 at the 2020 census, down from 1,744 at the 2010 census. A post office called Kirkland has been in operation since 1875. Kirkland was platted in 1876. The village was named for William T. Kirk, a local landowner.
