Totally disappointing and not worth the 12 dollar parking fee. If there was a picnic area, we could not find it. If there was a place to get into the water more that 6 inches deep we could not find …Full review by Ron T

Wear tennis shoes! Big rocks to get over. Then switch to flip flops. We had so much fun! Some of our friends did some cliff jumping while others sat with their feet in the chilly water. Just a nice, …Full review by Nikki L
How come the parking lot is always closed or full? I tried twice at about 11am and is that where you enter by foot to get to the river? I wouldn’t have my family walk on the highway to get to it. Too dangerous.

THere r only 20 spots and close the lot until a car leaves. We got lucky, but it is usually a long wait. Go early¡
Are there any hiking trails along the creek or area?

Yes. From this point there is a trail goes along the river following the current running towards Sedona. You can Google map it to get a good idea. Be aware that this trail will take you back to the bridge that you crossed with your car to reach Grasshopper point. So, by taking the branches trail up towards the road (not that difficult or far) you will reach the parallel trail to this car road that by keep going will allow to capture the great view people get by parking on the small lot beside the bridge (easy to miss on your way towards Grasshopper point). So, you don't need to straggle as many waiting for an opening on the bridge's parking lot. Now, by staying on the trail at water level, you will have plenty of areas in the shadows which is a blast in the summer hot times, with the canyon narrowing by sections making a tunnel of cool air one thanks along the way!!.. You haven't ask about stay on the water to enjoying a picnic day. Well, that could be tricky, and I'm willing to give you some advice if you ask for it!!.. Hope you find this info helpful and me hoping you have a blast on your trip to come!!..
