Nice area with lots of street food and unbrella vendors to relax on the beach. It is mostly Thai tourist, but very few westerners. Great for a short weekend trip from BangkokFull review by Astro V

I am hoping to get to Bang Saen in the evening (flight will arrive from Chiang Mai) around 8.30pm . Anyone know if they are indeed any buses in the evening. Everything i am finding online seems to say they end quite earlier. As it is just an hour away any idea what the cost of a taxi might be? once again i had a look online but i saw such a variety trying to decide if worth attempting to get there that night or not?

Personally I would leave it until the next day, you will find it difficult to get a bus in the evening. Bang Saen isn't really like other better known resorts, to be honest it's a bit quieter and closes quite early. Don't get me wrong, there are a few bars that stay open late but whether they'd be worth trying to find after a late arrival.... well that's up to you.
